Karara Mining Limited is a joint venture between Gindalbie Metals Limited and AnSteel, one of the largest iron ore producers and steel makers in China. Karara operates an iron ore mine and associated infrastructure in the mid-west region of W.A.The operation is designed for a +30 year mine life and production of 8Mtpa. It comprises a long life and world-class magnetite deposit; dedicated rail infrastructure; and an integrated train load-out/ship loading facility at our Geraldton port operations. Karara is breaking new ground with the development and ongoing operation of the first significant iron ore mine in the Mid- West.
We have an opportunity for a qualified and experienced HR Generalist in a very hands, business partnering role. The successful candidate will be pivotal in providing HR advice and support to their site/port based customer portfolio and to deliver effective HR initiatives to assist the business in achieving its goals.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide human resource advice and support to Site and Geraldton Port based Leaders
- Coach and develop leaders to ensure compliance to workplace legislation and adherence to Karara HR policies and procedures
- Take the lead in rigorous and effective management of investigations into various organisational and disciplinary matters
- Generate and interpret key HR metrics and provide recommendations to improve business performance
- Participate in HR projects, focusing on continuous improvement
- Coordinate the effective implementation of HR initiatives and programmes
- Lead site based HR by providing mentoring, coaching and support
Key requirements:
- Bachelor Degree in Human Resources or similar related tertiary qualification
- Significant experience in a senior business partnering HR role in mining or a similar industry
- Well-developed capability to lead HR investigations, close out disciplinary incidents and case management, including dealing with the Fair Work Commission
- Demonstrated effective leadership style and influencing skills
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong understanding of HR systems, policies and procedures and Fair Work legislation
- A proven track record of delivering sound business/commercial outcomes
