Karara Mining Limited (KML) is an Ansteel Group company formed as a joint venture with Gindalbie Metals Limited. Ansteel is one of the largest iron ore producers and steel makers in China. Located 200km south-east of Geraldton, Western Australia, Karara is the largest mining operation and the first major magnetite mine in the Mid-West. It produces a premium, high-grade concentrate product for export to steelmakers.

The opportunity

We are currently seeking a Training Officer to join our Perth office. Reporting to the Deputy Manager Human Resources, this role will help facilitate and improve the Corporate HR training management and training system, optimising the training content and evaluation.

This role will also be providing practical training in the English and Chinese language to promote better integration and development of the corporate culture, while enhancing the sense of belonging and cohesion of all employees.

To be successful in the role, the following is essential:

• A Bachelor's and Master's degree in English
• Teaching experience in English and Chinese
• Good communication skills and coordination skills, able to independently conduct English training and effectively organize and manage training activities
• Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work with cross-functional working teams
• Have a good sense of team work, able to maintain a good cooperative relationship with colleagues to complete work tasks

Key Duties not limited to:

• Responsible for language training of employees in either Chinese or English
• Improve the language skills of employees and promote the integration and progress of corporate culture through training
• Develop enterprise training plan. According to the company strategic objectives and business needs, develop corporate training system and plan
• Analyse staff development and job needs, determine training content, form and teaching resources
• Responsible for the coordination work, including the preparation of human resources training, sourcing training instructors, venue arrangement, equipment preparation, training materials, etc.
• Control the training process and ensure that the training activities are implemented according to the plan
• Establish and maintain internal training resources, including courses, teaching materials, cases, etc.
• Establish cooperative relations with external training institutions to expand training resources and ensure they are updated and aligned with the strategic objectives and business needs

About Karara Mining

Located 200 km south-east of Geraldton in the Shire of Perenjori, Western Australia Karara has an expected mine life of 30+ years. The operation includes a large open pit mine, complex ore processing and beneficiation plant and significant infrastructure and logistics networks. As part of the logistics network Karara owns and operates 80km of railway between Tilley Junction and the Karara mine site, linking the Karara Export Terminal at the Port of Geraldton, able to handle up to 16 Mtpa of export product from a dedicated berth, with associated rail and train unloading infrastructure.
